Who am I?
My name is Chata Mundell. My wine journey started in Stellenbosch, the heart of the South African wine region. Here, I completed my BSc in Viticulture and Oenology, but I truly fell in love with the art when I started studying international wine through my degree and WSET Level 3.
My love for international wine led me to make the life-changing decision to move to Europe to build on my knowledge. I enrolled in the International Vinifera Masters program, which allowed me to study in Montpellier, Bordeaux, Turin, and Milan. During my studies, I also had the opportunity to complete diverse harvests, which gave me a deeper understanding of different winemaking techniques and the importance of terroir.
My journey now continues in the Netherlands where I work as a fermentation specialist and wine educator. My dream is to introduce everyday people to the wonderful world of wine in an easy to understand, fun way. I want to tell the stories of not only the regions but the people behind the wine. Starting Uncorked tastings is the first step to realizing this dream.
